I’m hoping this procedure will resolve my MBP 15-inch early 2011 issues!
I’m looking at ifixit’s step by step and wonder where this resistor resides.
    https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MacBook+Pro+15-inch+Unibody+Early+2011+Board+Replacement/5899

There appears to be two boards surrounding the fans. Which one, and which step should I stop to extract this resistor?
Also, how to confirm that this board is correct?
    thx, sam

you wont actually need to remove the board. it can be done in case with the bottom cover removed.

If you are unsure of the resistor, send me a nice clear photo of the board near the fans and i will outline it for you.

That would be a tremendous help. I would have gotten that wrong based on my reading of the docs.
